Moped, the engine capacity doesn’t exceed 50 cc, but accelerates not more than 45km/h.
Drivers, who has A, B, C1, D1, C or D category driving license, can drive also AM category vehicles.

Motorcycles without sidecar, the engine capacity doesn’t exceed 125cc un output power not more than 11kW, and tricycles, with output power not more than 15 kW.
Drivers who has A2 or B driving license, can also drive A1 category motorcycles in Latvia.

Motorcycles with output power till 35 kW.
age 24
All unrestricted motorcycles, the output power of which is more than 15 kW.

You can apply for study by phone +371 67463055. Theoretical course is 3 lessons (15 academical hours) according to the schedule. After finishing theoretical session, you have to pass the theoretical test for A category at driving school.
After, you have to pass the theoretical test for A category at CSDD.
Theoretical classes are at Bieķensalas street 21, 214 audience.
Get started learning Before you start practical session, you shouldn’t wait until theoretical classes are finished. Also you don’t need to get the special permit for study driving at CSDD, you driving license will be your permit for study driving.
- The quantity of driving lessons depends on your skills, but not less than 10 academical hours (45 min.).
- You should individualy contact instructor to arrange the schedule for practical session. One practical lesson is 60 min.
- The practice is taking place in Mārupe, Gaujas street 5c.
- When you’ll have enough driving skills, you can apply for practical exam at CSDD.
You should have all equipment (helmet, jacket, gloves, trousers and boots for motorcyclists) for the practical exam, otherwise you won’t be allowed to pass the exam, and you won’t receive back the payment.
The practical exam consist of 3 steps:
- The technical knowledge about the motorcycle.
- Figures. You should to perform all 8 figures, you have only 2 attempts to each figure. (Figures: “Slalom”, “Stop line”, “bypassing with braking”, “bypassing without braking”, “snake”, “eight”, “bridge”, “garage”)
- If you pass all figures, then you should show good skills and knowledge of Traffic rules on street both in the inhabited area and outside inhabited area.
When the practical exam if finished, the CSDD inspector will explains to the applicant about the driving, skills and mistakes.
